Ruby Scholarship for Women

The Ruby Scholarship is a scholarship program for female students pursuing post high school education. Eligibility is based on financial need and applicant interviews. The applicant pool will be large enough to qualify as a valid charitable class and will be solicited from applicants based on an objective and non-discriminatory manner.

The purpose of awarding scholarships under IRC Section 4945(g)(1) will be to pay all or part of a recipient's expenses paid directly to an educational institution described in IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(ii).

The selection process selects recipients on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis as well as on financial need.

Scholarship award amounts are determined by available funds and individual need.

 

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

 

1. Must currently be enrolled in a qualifying college or university.

2. Must have proof of US citizenship.

3. Must be at least 18 years of age.

4. Must be female on ID documents.

5. Submit a current photo with application.

6. Complete the application in its entirety.

7. Submit the application by the posted deadline.

8. Complete an applicant interview with the selection committee via zoom.

 

Our scholarship opportunity is publicized through community outreach and by seeking applications based on need from referral sources. The areas of interest and support needs of individuals will be determined according to The Ruby Organization’s mission. Applications will be received from individuals who fit our intended interests per our mission and meet the financial need requirements. Furthermore, we will solicit applications from individuals on an objective and non-discriminatory basis.

 

The Board of Directors will determine the specific dollar amounts and the total number of scholarships awarded each year. The scholarship awards will be determined by need, purpose, and availability of funds. The field team and the board of directors will select scholarship recipients.

 

• The Scholarship application deadline is May 15.

• Scholarship applicants will be contacted to set up zoom interviews.

• Scholarships will be awarded no later than June 30.
